Privacy Policy

Ads On America LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (“AoA”), is committed to protecting online privacy while providing you with the most useful and enjoyable web experience possible.  This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) sets forth the collection and usage policies and practices for personally identifiable and other information that apply to the Ads On America™ web site (the “Site”).  By going beyond the Site’s homepage or purchasing a license to use Ad Space on the Interactive Ad Map (the “Ad Map”), using the Ad Map, registering with AoA, commenting on the AoA Blog, or otherwise participating in the Site’s services,  you are deemed to have consented to the policies and practices described in this Policy.

1. Collection of Information. 

A.  Site Advertisers.  When you request to purchase a license to use Ad Space on the Ad Map from AoA, we ask that you provide certain demographic, professional and personally identifiable information that may include, but may not be limited to, your (i) business or individual name, (ii) contact name, (iii) e-mail address, (iv) physical address, (v) web address, (vi) phone number, (vii) business type and (viii) desired county or counties that you request to license to use for advertising and promotional purposes in accordance with AoA’s Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”).  When you have completed all steps to request to purchase a license to use Ad Space, AoA will respond with a request to provide your PayPal information, which may include but may not be limited to, credit card number and billing information.

B.  Registered Site Visitors.  If you visit the Site and choose to register with AoA in order to comment on the AoA Blog and/or receive updates from AoA, you will register through WordPress and will be required to create a username and submit your e-mail address in order to receive a password.

C.  Aggregated Information; Contacting AoA.  Like many web site operators, AoA does log your IP address, browser type and domain name in the aggregate to (i) diagnose problems on the Site’s servers, (ii) administer the Site, (iii) gather broad demographic information, and (iv) give AoA an idea of which part of the Site you visit and how long you spend there. AoA does not link your IP address, browser type or domain name to any personally identifiable information. If and when you contact AoA, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

D.  Your Posts.  The Site offers (i) advertising opportunities to users, which include posting ads, text, audio, video, graphic files, image files, electronic media, web links, business summaries and/or other information (each an “Ad”) on the Ad Map, and (ii) opportunities to post comments and content (each a “Comment”) on the AoA Blog.  If you post or link any of your personally identifiable information on or in Ads, Comments or on other publicly available pages on the Site, if any, such information may be collected and used by third parties not affiliated with or controlled by AoA.  AoA is not responsible for the use made of such information by third parties.

2. Use of Information.  Except as expressly provided herein to the contrary, the information you provide to AoA is confidential and is maintained in our secure database. AoA will not sell, rent or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to any other organization who may be interested in making solicited contacts. AoA may use the information we collect to notify you about your account, changes to the Site and services offered in connection therewith, or to verify your information.  AoA is, however, a forum that offers advertising opportunities; therefore, in addition to your Ad content, Comments, information and material posted on the Site, you agree that certain additional information may be disclosed to third parties as follows:

A.  Legal Related Disclosures.  AoA may disclose your account information to comply with a governmental entity request or with any legal proceeding or process, or if we believe in good faith that such release is necessary in order to protect the rights, property or safety of AoA, our users or other third parties.

B.  Business Partnerships, Business Transition and Functionality Related Disclosures.  AoA may transfer and disclose aggregated and personally identifiable information with a business partner or with a third party who is acquired by, merges with or acquires all or a portion of the assets of AoA, or with companies or individuals AoA employs to perform functions for the Site or for AoA, including, but not limited to hosting the Site and web servers, analyzing data or providing customer service.  In such an instance, AoA will require that personally identifiable information be kept confidential. 

C.  Data Aggregation or Marketing Related Disclosures.  AoA may disclose information to third parties in a non-personally identifiable manner to improve AoA’s marketing and promotional activities, statistically analyze usage of the Site or improve the Site’s content.

D.  PayPal Related Disclosures.  When PayPal is used to purchase a license to use Ad Space on the Site, AoA may require that you provide certain financial and personally identifiable information.  By requesting to purchase a license to use Ad Space on the Site, you consent to AoA providing your personally identifiable and financial information to our service providers and to such third parties as AoA determines are necessary to support and process your PayPal payments.  Only such personally identifiable information as necessary to perform the foregoing functions will be disclosed.

3. Security.  AoA has taken reasonable measures to protect against loss, misuse, or alteration of the information we collect from you and that is under our control. Despite these reasonable efforts, you should be aware that transmissions by means of the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  AoA has no liability for disclosure of your information due to errors or unauthorized and improper acts. To assist AoA in taking reasonable steps to prevent the unauthorized use of your personally identifiable information, please keep your account, username and password confidential.

4. Cookies.  Like many other commercial web sites, the Site may use standard technology called a “cookie,” which is a small data file that certain web sites write to your hard drive that can only be read by the web server in the domain that issued you the cookie.  Some parts of the Site use cookies so that AoA can better serve you when you return to the Site.  Cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. 

5. Modification. As the services available on the Site may change from time to time, AoA may, at any time without notice, amend or modify this Policy by updating this web page. Therefore, you should review this page from time to time so that you will be aware of any such modifications.

6. Third Party Sites. The Site contains links to other web sites over which AoA has no control, including but not limited to social network sites (“Third Party Sites”), and this Policy does not cover those Third Party Sites. AoA does not share your personally identifiable information with Third Party Sites and is not responsible for their privacy policies, practices or statements, if any.  We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of any Third Party Sites you visit.

7. Children.  The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and AoA does not knowingly collect or use any information from children under the age of 13.  By using the Site, you represent that you are 13 years of age or older and, if you are under the age of 18, you either are an emancipated minor, or have obtained the legal consent of your parent or legal guardian to participate on the Site and the Site services.

8. Termination of Services.  In the event your license to use Ad Space is terminated or cancelled for any reason, some personally identifiable information may be retained by to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, assist with investigations, comply with legal requirements or for any other legitimate business purposes.
